Recommendation (Originally posted on LinkedIn)
As an entry level professional, Ms. Courtney Rivers falls in the highest (99th) percentile with which I have worked over the last 10 years. I would recommend her highly and without reservation. Ms. Rivers brings knowledge of science and deep understanding of Instructional Design and Development to her work, as demonstrated by her involvement in the self-paced course, Chemistry for Non-Chemist. She has mastered using standard course authoring tools, among them Vyond, RISE and Articulate Storyline. ACS benefits greatly by having her unique skill set in the ACS Education Division.
Ms. Rivers has an intuition for how to write learning objectives and track them in a storyboard. She then deftly transfers these foundational assets to finished products. In her time here, she has created instructional videos and complex self-paced e-learning modules using technical course authoring tools.
Ms. River’s communication and listening skills are so advanced that we were able to give her project parameters and she would complete a multitude of complex tasks with creativity and accuracy. She was able to manage and track complex projects. Additionally, she regularly collaborated tactfully and candidly with upper management and teams across ACS. Her exceptional work on an internal training program about the Society Prioritization Project exemplifies this.
Ms. Rivers went above and beyond attendance expectations and participated with our offshore partners in distant time zones, which often required an early arrival. Ms. Rivers has mastery over basic workplace platforms such as Microsoft 360. She also demonstrated mastery with key course authoring tools, such as Vyond, RISE and Articulate Storyline. In some cases, she recommended improvements to these platforms. For example, she incorporated an outside audio program into her Vyond videos. Importantly, ACS benefitted greatly by Ms. River’s understanding of and ability to implement WCAG Level 2 Accessibility Standards.
